Cell Phone Information to Help You Buy!

Tuesday, December 30th, 2008

Over the past few weeks there have been many ads that appear in your local newspapers. They have been advertising many products that are must haves for the masses. They will run specials on TV’s, appliances, cars and many others.

The biggest trend seems to be Cell Phones! Have you seen these full page ads with a cell phone in a sexy color and great looking background with swirl patterns. Then they will have three or four lines that say FREE or Great Low Price. Like it is a big deal. Oh Wait, I guess it is a big deal if you don’t shop where I shop!

Well, I guess it is a very big deal for all of you poor uninformed shoppers. To get a phone for free is akin to having someone give you a free piece of candy. It is delicious looking, has great sex appeal, is everything a person wants but wait, it is not a big deal!

I know, I know, you think that there is something wrong with me. Well, I can’t disagree but getting back to cell phones, I guess I am a lot like a bank teller that deals with money all day long and thinks that cash is no big deal. Or how about a person that works at a pizza shop, do you think he or she may tire of pizza or subs or caldones. You better believe it.

So why shouldn’t I be a little jaded about cell phones when the company I represent gives one cell phone out of 50 cell phones away for free with a new two year contract. Or if you want cell phone that has some extra bells and whistles, you can get it for $9.99 or $19.99 or even $29.99. If I include that batch with the free phones there are about 90 cell phones to choose from that you can get for less than a good meal for two or a family of four at a fast food restaurant.

But, that is not the best part of this information. But wait, there are more than 90 great deals on cell phones as every single cell phone they have is discounted. That means you can get one of the new fancy phones with text pads, or text screens, Internet access, text messaging and camera phone with many more items then you could list, that would be highly discounted.

It doesn’t get any better than that does it?

Well YES it does. It gets much better! How You say?

Suppose I told you that you can shop for cell phone service from any of the big six cell phone service providers all on one website for your comparison and convenience? There will be information about all of the things that you feel are important to your decision making process.

Is one service better than the other or what cell phone do they provide for what price. It is like having all of your favorite candy bars in one store except they have phones and 95% of the cell phone service suppliers.

NOW, That doesn’t get any better. You cannot find that anywhere.

Let me review this info for you as it may be a little bit to much for you to digest at one sitting. You are probably feeling a little faint right now and think you are going to pass out, but hold on. Let me review!

You get your choice from over 90 cell phones that are priced less than $30. There are another highly popular group of phones that are discounted heavily. They will have all of the bells and whistles, oh and cameras that you could possibly want. There are the six major dealers of cell phone service providers all on one website where you can compare their service and price along with the phones that they offer side by side. All of this on one website where you can compare side by side for the best deal for you.

What is wrong with this picture? You don’t know where it is, thats what is wrong.

Then Please go to my web site where you can learn all about this phenomenal and special website and how you can get there from my website where you can learn about the differences in cell phone service and cell phones and what they have to offer.

Now you don’t have to learn any of that if you don’t what to, you can just go ahead and get a phone like

your friends have or what ever and then look for the service that they have also, just by going to my website and click on the link for the main website for all of the phones and the six service providers.

My authors paragraph will have the link to go to my website for the info you want. Thanks for reading.

Why It Is Important To Recycle Cell Phones?

Thursday, December 25th, 2008

Some of the most toxic products being tossed out as household trash are cell phones and electronic devices. This type of trash is called e-trash, and especially problematic are cell phones.

Cell phones contain a very high level of toxic substances that enter the environment when discarded cell phones are incinerated or when rainwater leaches these chemicals out of the landfills into our drinking water.

Cell phones are known to contain toxins such as antimony, arsenic, beryllium, cadmium, copper, lead, nickel, and zinc. These chemicals are listed by the EPA, as persistent toxins (persistent bioaccumulative toxins, PBTS), meaning they do not readily breakdown and remain in the environment for years. Of these metals, lead and cadmium accumulate in both plant and animal tissue, and have been known to be responsible for many disorders in humans.

The dangers of lead has been known for many years. It is thought to be a carcinogen and adversely affects the central nervous system, kidneys, immune system and has been associated with development disorders in children. Lead was banned from paint years ago, and manufacturers are now beginning to eliminate lead from electronic components. Every electronic device contains a circuit board and most often, lead is used to solder components on to these circuit boards.

Another especially toxic component of cell phones is brominated flame retardants. This chemical is added to plastics to reduce the risk of fire. Many components of the cell phone use this chemical. Scientific research has shown that some of these brominated flame retardants are also persistent bioaccumulative and toxic, but it is not know what long term effects this chemical has on humans and the environment.

Some of these flame retardants have been linked to cancer and disturbances in the immune and endocrine systems. When these products are incinerated, they give off highly toxic by- products. As with lead, many manufacturers are eliminating these chemicals from electronic products.

At the time when cell phones first became available to the average consumer, nickel-cadmium was used as a power source. Nickel-cadmium batteries, called Ni-Cds, were the battery of choice because they were rechargeable. The problem is that the metals used in these batteries are highly toxic. Cadmium is a PBT and a probable carcinogen. It has been linked to lung, liver and kidney damage, and has been found to be toxic to wildlife. As with the other toxic chemicals mentioned, cadmium is being eliminated from electronic products by many manufacturers.

The Lithium-ion and nickel-metal hydride rechargeable battery has typically replaced the Ni-Cds, but they contain their own supply of toxic chemicals.

The Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation is a non-profit organization that recycles rechargeable batteries. The program, Call2Recycle, has collected millions of pounds of rechargeable batteries and kept them from the landfills. They are trying to educate people on how easy it is to recycle a rechargeable battery or cell phone in the United States and Canada. A Google search on Call2Recycle will direct you to a recycling center near you. It’s free. It’s convenient. It’s responsible. Unfortunately, few people know about this program, so most cell phones and electronics end up in landfills.

Recycling is not the end all to solve our environmental problems. The recycling program is heavily dependent on consumers. When the economy sags and consumers are not buying, the need for recycled materials sags along with the economy. This became painfully evident with the economic crisis that began in October 2009. Recycling plants across the nation were hit hard. The demand for recycled products needed to manufacture new products was severely curtailed. The price for recycled products in some cases dropped 90% taking away the profit from these recycling facilities.

Our only hope is to make an effort to reuse as many products as we can at home, and to aim for zero waste. If recycling is no longer profitable for companies, we may see a future where we are charged for all the garbage we generate, and at a much higher rate than many of us pay now. Disposing highly toxic chemicals may be very expensive for the consumer.

Cell Phone Technology Continues to Advance

Friday, September 12th, 2008

Cell phones are arguably one of the biggest impact inventions of the past twenty years. Although telephones are nothing new, cell phones have revolutionized how people communicate, for better or for worse. It’s easier than ever to communicate with people anywhere in the world. Phones are no longer used just to speak with people, but now offer a variety of extra features such as texting, cameras, and access to the Internet. Phones are getting thinner and thinner, all while providing more function than ever before.

Almost 100 years ago, people began fantasizing about the possibility of a wireless phone. However, it took several decades for the idea to evolve. Twenty years ago, the impact and global reach of cell phones would have been unfathomable. The first cell phones were ridiculously large and heavy, quite unlike the small, sleek models that are so popular now.

In regards to phone design, there are three main types of phones seen on the market right now: basic “flat” phones, flip phones, and slider phones. There are also a few other types of designs popping up for those in the market for high-end phones, such as touch-screen phones, and those with two sides of interface.

Features such as voicemail, caller ID, and voice dial are no longer pricey upgrades to phone service, but a part of the basic phone plan. Although for many people it’s hardly an “option,” text messaging is by far the most popular upgrade on the market. Most cell phone service providers have a high per-text fee (around twenty cents per text) as well as several texting packages that are far more affordable. Because so many customers, teenagers especially are addicted to texting (sending thousands every month), the unlimited texting package is extremely popular in the United States.

Cell phones now have a variety of multimedia options available for download at an additional fee. The list includes the “essential” and the trivial, including ringtones, wallpapers, games, and music. This is one area where the cell phone market could improve; the options are typically somewhat mediocre in quality while expensive compared to the other downloads out there.

Unfortunately, there are a couple downsides to this tremendous invention. The actual telephone part of the cell phone is being commonly overlooked or ignored, with far more focus being given to the extra gizmos and fashion statement behind the phone.

Even more of a problem, the cell phone has been attributed with increasingly poor etiquette and discourtesy. People are continuously asked to turn off or silence their phones before entering quiet places like theaters, libraries, and places of worship. However, since there is little way to enforce these rules, people are repeatedly embarrassed when their phone unexpected goes off at the most inconvenient or inappropriate times.

It has become increasingly common for people to use their cell phones while driving, whether for calling somebody or sending a text. Every year, many accidents are blamed on inattentive drivers who were distracted by their phone. So far, the only method for reducing these accidents has been to ban cell phone use while driving.

Technology never ceases to blow people away. Even though the cell phones of today seem remarkable compared to Alexander Graham Bell’s first can-and-string device, phones will continue to evolve. Phones are no longer just for calling people, but just one small feature of a larger “smartphone” capable of so much more.

New Technology Brings New Ringtones

Tuesday, August 19th, 2008

Over the past few years, technology has evolved significantly and because of the development in technology, a lot of things have changed. Earlier, cell phones used to be bulky and now, cell phones of negligible weights are available in the market. Now, cell phones have a number of features and high-quality camera, music player, radio, GPS system are some of the common features.

The technology for ringtones has also evolved greatly over the past few years and as a result, different types have been developed. The different types distinguish each other on the basis of the number of musical notes played at a time and the quality of the ringtone. New cell phones support all the types of the ringtones whereas old cell phones support one or two types of ringtones. Also, an individual cannot play a one which is not compatible with the cell phone and so, an individual should carefully check the supported types of ringtones while purchasing a cell phone.

Monophonic: Monophonic are the ringtones which play only one musical note at any given time. They were introduced before polyphonic and truetone ringtones and they represent the first generation of ringtones. Truetone ringtones are used to play complete songs whenever someone calls the cell phone subscriber whereas monophonic ringtones are used to play tone based versions of songs.

It is possible to personalize and modify monophonic tones in such a way that a particular ringtone is played for a particular caller. You can use this feature to set specifictone for specific users. As an example, you may use a happy monophonic tone for your best friend or a romantic tone for your life partner. You need to change the tone settings of the cell phone in order to use this feature.

Polyphonic: Polyphonic are the ringtones which play more than one musical note at any given time. Polyphonic ringtones were the first to follow the monophonic ringtones and they are more complex than monophonic ringtones as more musical notes are played at the same time. They are used for creating complex sounds as they give close approximation of harmony and instrumental melody. Polyphonic ringtones are more popular than monophonic ringtones as they sound more like the songs they are mimicking.

Also, the polyphonic tones are available in different styles and heavy metal, pop, country music are some of the popular styles. Most of the new cell phones support polyphonic tones and this is the reason why a number of polyphonic ringtones are easily available. It is possible to use some song writer to create new songs which can be used as polyphonic ringtones. It is also possible to add some variations to the songs and the ringtones so as to generate new tones.

Truetone: Truetone represents the latest evolution of ringtones and they have become very popular among cell phone users. A truetone is also known as a mastertone or a realtone. A truetone is an audio recording in a common format such as AAC, MP3, or WMA. Usually, truetone ringtones are created for using popular songs as ringtones.

A number of truetone tones are easily available and they are used by cell phone users to express themselves. New cell phones allow users to set different MP3 ringtones for different people. Truetone ringtones have replaced polyphonic tones to large extent as truetone tones are of better quality and are available at affordable prices.

Cell Phones: To Commit or Not to Commit?

GSM phones contain a small, removable card, known as a SIM (Subscriber Identity Module). This SIM Card is programmed with your carrier

How to Shop For a Computer Online

Monday, June 30th, 2008

Computers are a lot cheaper now than they were fifteen years ago, due to advancements in technology and the onset of more efficient production techniques. In stores, you can find quality computers for as low as four hundred dollars. Although you can get good deals buying from a traditional business, you can save even more money by choosing to shop for a computer online.

If you want the comfort and security of a brand name, you can still opt to purchase from them. Every single major retailer, and even the minor ones, has a website which features information about the company itself and its entire catalog. On your own time, you can browse through the catalog to find the perfect computer to meet your needs. Large corporation websites are usually designed well, easy to read through, and load quickly, meaning it does not take that long to examine a multitude of product pages.

The expediency of online shopping facilitates the process of buying any product, computer or otherwise. With computers, there are several specifications you want to be aware of, such as the hard disk storage space, RAM, type of monitor, etc. In a store, you would need to walk from product to product, reading the small printed characteristics one at a time. When shopping on a website, you can simply open a tab for each product you are interested in, and then speedily skim through each page, reading deeper into computers that you are most interested in.

As always, eBay is an incredible place to turn if you are primarily interested in finding the lowest price. You can quickly browse through listings of new and used computers. Some listings may include an assortment of accessories to go along with the computer, and these are great to look into, as buying a set of items together is cheaper than purchasing them separately. With eBay, you also have the ability to pay with PayPal, meaning you can be sure the transaction is safe and secure.

Price comparison websites show you the prices for the same product from multiple different sources. Google Product Search, originally known as Froogle, was one of the first price comparison services. While Google Product Search does not take any commissions on the products it sells through the service, many other product comparison services make a lot of money on commission. By utilizing one of the dozens of services on the Internet, you can find the lowest price on an individual product, without having to go to each vendor separately.

Knowing how to buy a computer online is essentially worthless if you do not know what to look for in a computer system. If you are just going to be using the computer for business purposes, you do not need to spend extra money on an enhanced graphics card or a higher amount of RAM. You may, however, want to get a webcam for video conference purposes. What you are going to be using the computer for determines exactly what you need.

Whatever you are going to use a computer for, you probably need more than just the CPU and monitor. Accessories you will probably require include speakers, a printer, and a higher-quality mouse. Finding accessories works the same way as finding a computer, except you do not need to spend as much time deciding on smaller devices.

Cell Phones - No Longer Just For Calling

Saturday, June 14th, 2008

It seems that, with the hectic lifestyles we all lead today, more effort is being made to compress as many functions as possible into ever aspect of our lives; our cell phones are no exception to this trend.

Consider, now, all of the functions that have been built into our cell phones in an effort to simplify our lives and give us more freedom while on the move.

Email

Thanks to the numerous smartphones on the market today, we are no longer tethered to our computers when we have a need to send and receive emails. This can work as both an advantage and disadvantage, depending on your point of view. The ability to still have access to your email while you are away from your desk or traveling can be a vital part of your business. While it can be a great tool to managing your customers and your business, access to your email at all times can also be a bit invasive. The urge to constantly check your email, even while spending valuable time with your family, can be very strong. You will need to find a good balance to make sure that you do use the ability to check your email as a positive thing that does not encroach on your personal life.

Internet

We now have, built into many smartphones, the ability to hop onto the internet using our cell phones no matter where we are. Access to the internet while on the road can allow you to keep up with the news, stock markets, or even help you look up a contact you don

Change the Look of Your Cell Phone, Fast!

Saturday, June 14th, 2008

Every few months it seems that the cell phone service providers are trying to get you to change phones and extend the amount of time that you are locked in to their service contract. They try to entice you with sleek looking cell phones designed to catch your eye and try to make your old phone look boring. However, you can join the smart people and spice up the looks of your existing cell phone with some very creative cell phone accessories without the additional, recurring expense of upgrading your service contract.

Interchangeable Faceplates

Several new phones, like the Samsung T639, are now shipping with interchangeable faceplates inside the box at no extra charge. Interchangeable faceplates give users the ability to change the look of their mobile phone with a few simple snaps. Most cell phone makers, and the carriers they sell their phones to, will offer faceplates for their most popular models. However, the faceplates offered by the makers and carriers are often limited in color, style, and can also be on the rather pricey side. Luckily, third party makers of cell phone accessories have seen the opportunity in the market for a wider range of colors, styles, and of course lower prices. You can choose from a large selection of interchangeable faceplates for most popular cell phone models on the market, without the need to go directly to your carrier or mobile manufacturer. Available from numerous online vendors, mall vendors, and often even your local convenience store, interchangeable faceplates are now a fun and fast way to give your cell phone a whole new look.

All Terrain Cell Phones

Sunday, June 8th, 2008

The average cell phone is not designed for rugged use; simply dropping it onto a hard surface can oftentimes render it useless, or at the very least damage it to the point that it needs basic repairs. Let
